The Data Collection and Analysis Unit is primarily responsible for the collection, processing, and analysis of birth and death data.  This unit also provides statistical reports based on vital records and other health status indicators derived from other public health data for Los Angeles County.

Notice of Certificate Availability

BIRTH CERTIFICATES
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Vital Records office maintains birth records for events occurring in Los Angeles County (except for Pasadena and Long Beach) during the current or previous year.  For all other records, contact the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder at 800-201-8999 or visit their website at www.lavote.gov/home/recorder.

Birth Certificates are available 10 days after the original certificate has been registered. Requests can be made in-person, by mail, or on-line.
