DoxyPEP is a new biomedical prevention tool utilizing doxycycline as post-exposure prophylaxis (DoxyPEP) to prevent
bacterial STIs (chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis) by taking doxycycline 200mg within 72 hours of condomless sex.

The kit is structured around three key messages:
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis have been increasing across Los Angeles County becoming an
urgent public health priority that can be addressed with appropriate screening, treatment, and prevention.
DoxyPEP is a safe, inexpensive, and highly effective biomedical prevention tool that can reduce chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis infections.
Los Angeles County Public Health strongly supports the use of DoxyPEP, even as studies regarding potential antibiotic resistance continue.
