Spaying/neutering pets can help resolve
the large pet overpopulation in Los Angeles County. There is
a large number of stray dogs and cats in our county and
local animal shelters can be overwhelmed by the sheer
numbers of unwanted animals entering their facilities daily.

Talk to
your veterinarian about the
procedure - this may include
bloodwork before surgery and
advanced anesthesia
monitoring techniques to
ensure your pet is healthy
before and during surgery
Ask your
local animal shelter about
low cost spaying & neutering
options in your area
Keep pets
confined to your property -
allowing intact pets to roam means you may
end up with unwanted puppies or kittens
What the HPHF
coalition does to promote spaying/neutering in LA County
The HPHF coalition wants to ensure that
every pet owner has access to spay or neuter services,
especially in areas where stray animals are most often seen.
Pet expos and services.
Working with local partners, HPHF organizes or participates
in
events where community members are able to access
low-cost and free pet preventive services such as
spay/neuter, vaccinations and more. Attendees also get
connected to local resources for continued care for their
pets.
