The Toxics Epidemiology Program works to identify, control, and prevent unwanted health effects associated with toxic agents in the Los Angeles County population. Our vision is for a Los Angeles County where people are safe from toxic agents and can live, work, and play in a non-hazardous environment.

Los Angeles County is the most populous county in the U.S., with over 10 million residents. The county covers more than 4,000 square miles and includes 88 cities. Los Angeles County is a large, diverse industrial center with the potential for many types of toxic emissions and exposures.
