The Neighborhood Youth Center is open from 12-8 p.m. to youths and children ranging from 6-18 years of age. The goal of this center is to inspire and motivate the youths and to provide exposure to structured and meaningful activities and programs. The activities are an alternative for many youths and help keep them off the streets.

YOUTH SPORTS:
Roller Hockey
Come join this exciting new sport on either of our two rinks. You provide your own equipment. Recreation and Club Divisions available. For ages 3 to 14. Pee-Wee Division ages 3 – 4.

Basketball League
The goal of basketball is to instill in each participant the importance of team play and sportsmanship. Practices are held weekdays, games are played on Saturdays. For ages 6 to 14 years of age.

Gymnastics
A program open for both boys and girls. Participants include those interested in beginning classes through girls competitive team. Days and times vary according to the YMCA branch.

Preschool Tumbling
A unique learning experience for toddlers, and tiny tots to improve coordination, flexibility, agility, strength, and endurance through motor development and basic tumbling skills. Children will need to wear gym clothing.

Youth Indoor Soccer
Indoor soccer for boys and girls ages 4 1/2 to 18. Play indoor soccer in the fall, a sport that combines basic soccer play in a walled area. It teaches basic soccer skills, sportsmanship and personal respect while providing good physical fitness in a fun and safe environment.

JUST FOR TEENS:
Teen Scene
A club program for teens grades sixth - eighth. Includes recreation, club activities, and fun!! Transportation provided from many local middle schools.

Youth Service Club
A club program for teens grades sixth - twelfth who are interested in making new friends, helping others and learning new skills.

Youth In Government
2500 teens from all over California are taught Government by actively participating. Includes mock trials, moot court, and culminates with a trip to Sacramento to run the state legislature for a weekend. Groups meet weekly at times decided within the group. Program will start at the beginning of September with the recruitment of new members and advisors.

Triangle Mentoring
For Bellflower High School and Mayfair High School students. Students are mentored by adults and provide tutoring for children in the afterschool childcare programs.
