SPA 6 COLLABORATIVE GROUP
In 1995, community based-organizations, (CBOs), community members and service providers began working together to develop a SPA-wide infrastructure for networking coordination. Previously established community groups continued to meet and eventually, merged the smaller groups into one large collaborative body. Over the past years, the SPA 6 Collaborative Group has grown to include Parent representatives, Kinship caregivers, CBOs, County departments, School administration (LAUSD and LACOE), community business, advocacy groups, youth and concerned community members. The collaborative group meets once a month to help identify and fill gaps in services, share information on issues impacting SPA 6 communities and constituents, and network. Each sub-region also holds a monthly meeting to coordinate and plan at a more localized community level. These meetings are open to the public.
