The Health Education Team provides technical support and assistance to improve the health status of SPA 3 & 4 populations through the development and implementation of a health education strategic program.
We target several population levels including: community residents, SPA 3 & 4 staff, key stakeholders, and partnering agencies and programs. Our program is based on three strategic interventions:
- Community-based Education,
- Human Resource Development
- Integrated Marketing Communication.
1. Community-based Education: We provide strategic community health education interventions to SPA 3 & 4 residents in order to prevent disease and enhance the health status of the population. We conduct community education campaigns on selected prevalent and emerging diseases such as West Nile Virus, nutrition and obesity, sexually transmitted diseases, influenza, and injury and violence.
2. Human Resource Development: Our program is committed to human resource development. This initiative is aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our staff to address complex and changing demands for critical services. Every quarter, our program organizes, plans, and conducts trainings in many fields such as leadership & management development, communication enhancement, bioterrorism preparedness, nutrition, obesity, physical activity, diabetes, and other important topics.
3. Integrated Marketing Communication: Using a variety of traditional and non-traditional channels, we aim to communicate health messages to residents. In collaboration with other programs and agencies, we will relay important health messages that encourage behavioral lifestyle changes to improve the health and well-being of the population.
