Angela Salazar, M.P.H. Program Director
A public health professional with over nine years experience designing, planning, managing, and implementing public health programs. Ms. Salazar provides technical support and assistance to the Metro & San Gabriel Planning Areas [SPA 4&3] through the development and implementation of a health education strategic program.
In the past five years she has directed, managed, and coordinated the health education program for SPA 4&3. Previous to that, she has worked with LAC/DHS TB Control, UCLA School of Medicine, American Lung Association, UCLA Extension Program, and the Jonsson Cancer Center. Ms. Salazar has experience in health promotion, disease prevention, and health education in a wide range of fields including nutrition, tuberculosis control, pediatric asthma management, injury and violence prevention, STDs, and diabetes.
Ms. Salazar received a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of California at Los Angeles [UCLA, 1996] with an emphasis in Community Health Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from UCLA, 1993.
