Food as Medicine Task Force |
Background
The Food as Medicine Task Force is a
collaborative coalition committed to
advancing the integration of food and
nutrition interventions as part of
healthcare in Los Angeles County. Formed
as a key initiative of the Los Angeles
County Food Equity Roundtable’s
Strategic Plan, the Task Force works to expand access
to medically supportive food and
nutrition interventions for Medi-Cal
recipients. This effort aligns with the
national "Food as Medicine" initiative,
which focuses on using food as a tool to
treat and prevent chronic diseases. MembershipThe Task Force is comprised of a diverse group of stakeholders, including community-based organizations that provide medically supportive food and nutrition services, philanthropic leaders, and County government leaders.
