Mini-Grants
The Los Angeles Collaborative for
Healthy Active Children offers mini-grants to help
groups conduct projects that will improve the health
of local children and support the efforts of the
Collaborative.
The Collaborative will support
these mini-grants with funds provided by the U.S.
Department of Agriculture/California Department of
Health Services/Network for a Healthy California grant.
All activities and materials paid for with these
funds must be targeted to low-income individuals or
households eligible for Food Stamps. Proposed
projects should:

Promote, encourage or advocate
increased daily consumption of fruits and
vegetables as part of healthy eating that is
consistent with the current Dietary Guidelines
for Americans and USDA Food Guidance System.

Promote, encourage or advocate
healthy eating and active lifestyles that
are consistent with the current Dietary
Guidelines for Americans and USDA Food Guidance
System.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants must be Los Angeles County
nonprofit organizations exempt from Federal income
taxes under Section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue
Codes.

Timeline
Eligible applicants may apply for up to $5,000. . The funding
must be spent by
the end of September each year.
