Most boating mishaps are caused by the driver of the boat rather than the equipment problems, weather, or environment. The following are safety tips to help prevent boating injuries. For additional information on boating operation safety, see the pages below (Select here to download a Fact Sheet in pdf format).

1. Wear a life jacket-It's your life, Preserve it!
2. Take a Safe Boating Class in your area-It can save your life!
3. Keep your boat maintained
4. Keep aboard your boat: A ship-to-shore radio, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, lifejackets, etc.
5. Do not drink or use drugs while operating your boat
Remember: Ducks Float~You don't! So wear your lifejacket!
