Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are used in
public health to map and understand the distribution of
health and disease in communities. The Epidemiology Unit
coordinates GIS training and resources in the
Department, including software licensing, access to
geographic data sources, and training sessions.
The Epidemiology Unit generates various maps that are important for the practice of public health. Many of these maps
