World AIDS Day, the annual event designed to strengthen global efforts to address the challenges of the AIDS pandemic, will be observed on Thursday, December 1, 2005.
The Los Angeles County Office of AIDS Programs and Policy (OAPP) is sponsoring a kick-off event from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. as part of Countywide events to mark World AIDS Day. The event will be held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 North Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Participants will later join in a special balloon launch ceremony at 10:00 a.m. held in memory of those we have lost to HIV/AIDS.
This annual event offers our community a unique opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the vitally important work of caring for those living with HIV disease and preventing its spread in Los Angeles County.
