Sentinel Physicians Needed For Influenza Surveillance

Every year the California Department of Health Services relies on the assistance of sentinel physicians to help monitor influenza trends by reporting weekly their percentage of patients who present with influenza-like illness. The CADHS is attempting to expand the number of participating physicians in Los Angeles County in order to obtain a more accurate picture of local trends and to keep pace with the rapid growth of the population. If you are interested in becoming a sentinel physician or would like more information, please contact: flu@dhs.ca.gov, call Melissa Dahlke at the California Department of Health Services (510-620-3494) or visit The California Influenza Surveillance Project: Sentinel Provider Program
