Commissary
A commissary is a food establishment in which food, containers, equipment or supplies are stored or handled for use in mobile food facilities, mobile food preparation units, stationary mobile food preparation units or vending machines.
Mobile Food Preparation Unit
A mobile food preparation unit is a portable food service unit upon which food is prepared for service, sale, or distribution at the retail level. This includes, but is not limited to, catering trucks, motion picture food vehicles, stationary mobile food preparation units, (and produce vehicles.)
Area We Serve
Public Health is responsible for enforcing the California Health and Safety Code in all of Los Angeles County except for those located in the cities of Long Beach, Pasadena, and Vernon. Those cities have their own health departments that enforce the Code within their jurisdiction.
