The mission of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is to protect and improve the health of all Angelenos. This means providing you and your family with protection from health threats, such as foodborne illnesses, natural and man-made disasters, toxic exposures, and preventable injury. Public Health also works to prevent chronic diseases, such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes and their risk factors: poor nutrition, inadequate physical activity, and tobacco use.

We are here to serve as a helpful resource to every individual in the county by offering information and resources necessary to pursuing and achieving healthy lives. We welcome your comments.
